How to offer consignment sales products

Outline of consignment sales

  • Posting products onto our online store will be free of charge.
  • We request the original offerer to store the products until any buyer contacts us.
  • Consignment fee will be 10% of the recommended sales price across the board; however, when the consignment sales price is less than 10,000 Yen, we will charge the fee of 20% of the recommended sales price across the board.
    * We will charge you additionally for the consumption tax for the consignment fee.
  • The consignment fee will be subtracted from the consignment sales amount after the sales transaction is completed.
  • The consignment sales amount will be paid to the original offerer within 10 days (excluding weekends and national holidays) from when the product had been delivered to the buyer.

How to consign products

  • When you wish to consign any product, please read through the consignment sales terms in the agreement and agree upon them, fill in the following matters in the consignment sales request form, and submit the form to us.
  • Please submit the photographs to be posted together with the product via a separate E-mail.

How to fill in the consignment sales request form

  • Consignment sales price: You can set any price for the products. Although there is not lower limit, please make sure to set a price which includes the consignment fee.
    (New, unused products may not be able to be posted if they are priced at a price lower than the recommended retail price offered by the manufacturer. In such case, we may have to describe “ASK” (inquiry to be made for the price) for the price.)
  • Description of the product: Name of manufacturer, model number, name of part, part number, quantity,
  • Description of the product: Status of the product or when it had been purchased (description of the product which you request to be posted for the offering product)
  • It is recommended that you describe whether the product has its guarantee form attached, whether it is contained in its original box, whether it has its operation manual contained, or if it has any special selling point such as being a rare product or limited edition, etc.
  • It will be helpful if you include descriptions for matters that are highly expected to be asked such as its operation status or where the failure is, etc.
  • Photograph: Please attach the photograph for the product which you wish to be posted together with the offer.
    Please be informed that we do not return the positives or media for the photographs.

As for the images

  • We basically do not process the received images.
  • Whether the photograph is clear or vivid will have a big impact upon the sales of the target product.
    It is recommended that you do not use any photograph that is out of focus, dark photographs, or photographs where the target product is shown in a small image.
    If the product has any accessory or any special selling point, we recommend you to fully utilize such advantages and include them into the product’s description.

Consignment Sales Agreement

  1. The sales price for the consigned product will be specified by the original sales offerer.
    The price displayed on GRANDSHIP online shop will be the total price including the consumption tax amount.
    Those products which cannot have the price displayed will have “ASK” displayed for their price.
    (New, unused products may not be able to be posted if they are priced at a price lower than the recommended retail price offered by the manufacturer.)
  2. The consignment fee for the consigned products will be 10% of the consignment sales price specified by the original sales offerer.
    However, when the consignment sale price is less than 10,000 Yen, we will charge the fee of 20% of the recommended sales price across the board.
    * We will charge you additionally for the consumption tax for the consignment fee.
  3. The consignment sales period will be 6 months from the day when the subject product is posted onto the Web site.
  4. Not all images submitted for the subject product will be posted onto the Web site.
    The consigned product may be deleted from the Web site without any notification to the original sales offerer.
    Example: In case where the original sales offerer is identified as malicious by having offered a wrong part or by having refused to ship the product, etc.
  5. When a buyer has offered to buy the consigned product, the original sales offerer shall attach his/her “ID ” (copy of his/her driving license, etc.) to the actual consignment product, and send them to GRANDSHIP (in case where the sales offerer is an individual person).
  6. Consignment sales original offerer shall implement operation check and confirm the details for the products subject for consignment sales in advance wherever possible.
    We recommend you to implement operation check and to check the status of the product even if the subject product is an unused product / new product / dead stock.
    When you have not been able to implement operation check, please describe so in the description for the product.
  7. The cost for shipping the consigned product to GRANDSHIP shall be paid by the original sales offerer.
  8. GRANDSHIP shall confirm whether the consigned product is as described (excluding operation check) by the original sales offerer before shipping it to the buyer.
    If it is identified that the consigned product is clearly not as described by the original sales offerer or when the product is damaged, the product shall be returned to the original sales offerer.
    The shipping cost for returning the product to the original sales offerer shall be paid by the original sales offerer, too.
  9. If the original sales offerer refuses to ship or to deliver the consigned product due to the original offerer’s own reasons after a buyer had offered to buy the subject product, or when it had been identified that the product is clearly not as specified in the description for the subject product, the original sales offerer may be charged for 30% of the consignment sales price as penalty charges.
  10. The original sales offerer shall agree to have the consigned product returned by the buyer during the cooling off period (which is for 10 days counting from the day when the subject product had been received by the buyer).
    In such case, the shipping cost for returning the product to GRANDSHIP shall be paid by the buyer (the party returning the product).
    The shipping cost for returning the subject product from GRANDSHIP to the original sales offerer shall be paid by GRANDSHIP.
  11. GRANDSHIP will receive the payment for the consigned product from the buyer, and after the cooling off period has passed, GRANDSHIP will subtract the 10% consignment fee and the consumption tax for the consignment fee from the price of the product, and pay the rest to the original sales offerer by bank transfer to the account specified by the original sales offerer (bank accounts only).
    Payment by bank transfer will be made approx. after 10 days has passed from the day when the product has been delivered to the buyer.
    Please note that the bank transfer fee shall be borne by the original sales offerer.
  12. In order to prevent from having duplicate orders made for a single product, we strictly prohibit the original sales offerer to conclude a sales contract for the same product to any other party during the period while the subject product is posted onto GRANDSHIP’s Web site.
  13. When any buyer has offered the original sales offerer to purchase the consigned product via a route other than GRANDSHIP during the period while the subject product posted onto GRANDSHIP’s Web site, or when the original sales offerer wishes to turn down the offer for consignment sales, the original sales offerer shall immediately inform GRANDSHIP accordingly.
